From 80 Hours to 40: How Jayde Whelan Got Her Life Back

In this episode, Andy and Angela Smith sit down with Jayde Whelan, owner of JD Painting Co. in regional Victoria. Jayde shares her journey from working 70–80 hour weeks, carrying the entire business in her head, to cutting her hours almost in half and building a team-driven company that doesn’t need her for everything.

🔑 Key takeaways:

  • Working harder isn’t the answer – Jayde was financially successful but hit burnout and panic attacks working 80-hour weeks
  • The moment she asked for help and brought her sister Ebony into operations changed everything
  • Small shifts (job management software, a separate business phone, a CRM) created massive time savings
  • Building the “JD Painting Way” standards doc gave her team clarity on quality without Jayde being on every job
  • Awards and recognition followed once the systems were in place – not the other way around
  • Jayde’s advice to any trade business owner feeling trapped: let go, get systems, get the right people, and remember – the business isn’t supposed to run you

There is a point many trade business owners reach where the business looks successful from the outside. There’s work coming in, the team’s growing, the phone keeps ringing, but behind the scenes, the owner is exhausted.

Andy
And that is exactly where today’s guest found herself. Jayde Whelan, owner of JD Painting Co., based in regional Victoria, was working 70 to 80 hours a week, carrying the whole business in her head, and trying to hold everything together herself.

…

Angela
She was making money and building a strong reputation, but the pressure had become too much. Jayde speaks openly in this episode about burnout, panic attacks, and the mental load that came with feeling like the business could not function without her.

Andy
But this is not just a story about hitting breaking point. It is about what changed when Jayde asked for help, brought the right people around her, started building systems, and learned to let go. She has now cut her working week almost in half, stepped largely off the tools, and started building a business that does not need her to do everything.

Angela
It’s honest, it’s emotional, and there are plenty of lessons in here for any trade business owner who feels trapped inside the business they worked so hard to build.

Jayde, welcome to the Tradie Show.

Jayde
Hey, guys. Thanks for having me.

Andy
Ah, so good to have you here. It’s gonna be an incredible episode. Love your story, and I know all the listeners will love it as well.

Angela
Absolutely. I’m really excited about today’s podcast because I know how every tradie listening here is gonna learn just how far you can get in 12 short months when you’re driven and take consistent action, because you have literally got your life back.

And let’s not reveal too much early. I wanna actually take you back to where it all began, Jayde. You never actually planned on becoming a painter, so how did JD Painting Co. even come about?

Jayde
Yeah, it’s a, it’s a funny thing. Yeah, never intended to be a painter, but, um, my father was a painter, so it’s in the blood.

Even as kids, he used to bring stuff home and have us painting them, so I guess maybe that ma- might have even implemented something back then. But yeah, no, I went off, did sound engineering, I think, at the time, and, and then I didn’t really like that. Went and did different things like sales and retail and business development roles until I decided to go back to school.

Did a business degree in music industry . And this was all the while working between, uh, for my father in his business. So I basically started there just cleaning on site, working as a laborer, and then as a, a brush hand. Never really thought, “Oh, this is what I’ll do.” I had one moment, I think it was just before I was gonna enroll to do my degree, of, “Well, maybe I should do this.”

But, uh Yeah, I thought, “Nah, I’ll just go off and do my own thing.” And by the time, as you do, you finish a degree and you don’t wanna do what you set out to do- Yeah, classic … in the beginning. And, um, I moved to Perth for a couple years and I thought, “Well, I, I know how to paint, so I’ll start working for myself.”

And that’s sort of how it started. I stayed there for a couple years and moved back down to Victoria into country Kyneton, out in the Macedon Ranges. And, uh, I went about, um, starting my business, sort of just working as a sole trader. Um, and slowly grew it from there, word of mouth, um, uh, from just me and then adding into the fold another person, another person.

Andy
Yeah.

Angela
Yeah. Do you know what I love, Jayde, about that, is you have had such a broad scope of experience, let’s say, built on skillsets. Then wh- on reflection, you could almost say it was on purpose so that you could actually be a trade business owner. Like, the skillset you just talked about, you know, sales and, um, e- even the music industry with probably people.

Different- Yeah … personalities. Uh, and your business desc- degree was just so broad. I, I, I think it’s actually perfectly set you up to do exactly what you’re doing now.

Jayde
Yeah, I absolutely agree. I’ve probably only really reflected over the last few months about that, and I feel like I’ve gone full circle and I’m now actually doing the thing that I sort of was intended to do.

Um, even though I enjoyed painting and I wasn’t a bad painter, a business owner is really where my skillset is. Uh, so yeah, it’s a bit of a, yeah, full circle moment, which is, uh, strange, but,

Andy
um- Yeah … sweet all right. No, it’s great, and we love hearing these full circle moments and, and understanding what you were gonna do and where life was taking you and how- Mm, times change. And, and, um, you know, for a lot of tradies, we sort of just leave year 10 and get in the trade and, and off we go, where yours is a different story. So it’s great hearing, ’cause there’s a lot of people that have different stories in regards of how they got into the industry. So before joining Lifestyle Tradie, what did life and business look like behind the scenes for you?

Jayde
Well, yeah, pretty, pretty chaotic, uh, to be honest. Uh, yeah, so even though it was, business was great and, um, I’ve sort of slowly organically grown it, it became sort of bigger than me. I had a few painters working for myself at the time and- Yeah, I was just doing, probably averaging 70 to 80 hours a week, and yeah, it was just, it just took over my life to the point where I, I had no weekends anymore.

That’s, that’s what I was doing because I was doing everything in the business. Um, you know, the story’s probably like many many others. It was financially successful, probably ’cause I was working 80 hours a week. Yeah. But, um, behind the scenes it was a mess because it was all, all in my head. And, um, yeah, just it, it, it was pretty full on.

Angela
How did that make you feel?

Jayde
Oh, um, well, I just kept going and going like most trades do. You just work harder and trying to get ahead and just work more hours to get ahead. But just doesn’t work like that. I had a couple of little, like, panic attack episodes, so I’d never really experienced a lot of that.

Uh, so that was different. So I guess that was my body telling me, “No, you can’t, you can’t just keep running on empty all the time.”

Angela
No.

Jayde
So that was a bit of a reality check of, um, yeah, something’s gotta change. Like, something’s gotta give.

Angela
So was there a particular moment when you realized that the way you were currently operating wasn’t actually sustainable long-term? Like, was there a trigger?

Jayde
Um, oh look, I just, I think I just knew I could… I was just totally burnt out. I needed a break. Um, I was sick of, you know, even getting up in the middle of the night and the cogs would start turning about all the things you have to do. And, um, but the other thing I think was just ’cause I was so, I had a really busy year, I didn’t even have time to go and talk to my accountant, and, um, and ’cause I was still working as a sole trader, um, I’d got a big tax bill whack, and, um, I thought, you know, like, “I’ve worked 80 hours a week,” and they just went, “Yep. Thanks.”

Angela
I’ll take a lot of that, thanks.

Jayde
So-Um, yeah. I know they don’t consider how many hours you do. So yeah, after that to having a chat with my accountant and we decided obviously that it was time to move to a company structure. Yeah, so those sort of points were, were eating on you. I couldn’t keep going- The way I was.

Angela
I know you were saying to me that your partner actually said to you, “Jayde, you’ve gotta give a little. Like, this is ridiculous. You, you are so young-” “… and you cannot keep functioning this way.”

Jayde
Yeah. Oh, look, she was a good sport. Um- I think she was like, like, “I know, I know you’re doing this thing to get to this point.”

But yeah, I mean, it, it takes over her life a bit as well, even though she’s not in the business. Um, obviously she has to hear it all, and- Yeah.

Angela
Yeah And it means you’re not around on a weekend.

Jayde
Deal, deal with me.

Angela
Yeah. It’s like you wanna go to a social occasion and you’re like, “Sorry, dude. I need to go home-” Yeah ’cause I got work to do.”

Jayde
Oh, you’re just not, you’re just not present.

Angela
Yes.

Jayde
I think that’s the main thing. You’re not present. Um, even though… Yeah, they were supportive, but, um, definitely supportive of me, um, making some changes.

Andy
Yeah, crazy. So, you know, looking back and, you know, we’ve, we’ve heard the, the full journey and to joining Lifestyle Tradie, and now you’ve been with us for around about 12 months or so.

Um, what are the biggest changes you’ve made across the team, systems, and the way you run your business today?

Jayde
We’ve done so much in 12 months, even though in my mind it’s not enough and it’s got still so much to do. But yeah, like, um, w- the biggest thing was probably job management, um, software. So I was operating without that before.

Andy
Yeah. Wow. And- You can’t, you can’t operate without that.

Jayde
Oh, obviously. Yeah, no, you can’t. Well, you can, but it just, you won’t have a life. Um- That’s right. Exactly.

Angela
We’ve proved that.

Jayde
Yeah, we’ve proved that. Uh, so yeah, job management soft- software. Um, we took on paint projects, so that’s been a, a big thing.

Obviously the shift from sole trader to company, which is a, is a big thing as well. The major thing too, at the time, I realized that I needed, I needed help in the back end, so I had kinda been toying about offering my sister a role because she had a background in operations, and I thought, “Oh, she could be really good at this.”

So I offered her a, a role, which was, which was a big change. Could go on and on. I’ve added a couple of painters, another van. I’ve promoted a leading hand. We’ve slowly been adding systems into the business. Uh, a CRM. Uh, I’ve been doing some leadership stuff to lead my team better. It’s been action-packed.

We… I mean, since we started with you guys, um- Yeah, that I, I don’t think we’ve been, um, been bored. There’s plenty to do. Um-

Andy
There’s always a lot to do.

Jayde
Oh, a- and, and like, and even, even when you assigned that first… Oh, there was a few tasks, but, um, the flow of a job, I think- Yeah … I’ve done the flow of a job.

We’ve changed that system so many times within the last 12 months, and I’m still not satisfied with it. But, um, we’ve ironed it out pretty well now, um, and it’s just, yeah, helped free up a lot of my time now, which is great.

Andy
Yeah. We’ve got a- Yeah, getting, getting those basic foundations and structures and all that stuff we, we talked about with you at the beginning and getting that flow of a job and making sure everyone’s doing things the right way and, and obviously having that help in the office and being able to dive head-on into Lifestyle Tradie stuff.

As you said, there’s so much to do, but you guys have come a long way in the last 12 months and, um, very exciting to see all the changes we’ve been watching from the sidelines.

Andy
Picture yourself 12 months from now, still doing quotes at midnight, missing your kids’ weekend sports again. The business was supposed to give you freedom, not steal it. Stress-Free Tradie is your way out. 27 proven systems from Dr. Drip, plus AI tools that handle the repetitive stuff. One day, completely free, and you’ll build your profit roadmap.

Angela
Well, what I found really interesting is although you actually have a team, like now you have a team of about seven, which is inclusive of, you know, full-time and part-time people, you did bring on your sister. Mm-hmm. But I remember you saying at the time that you originally thought you actually needed more painters, but you had this epiphany that you actually needed someone’s help behind the scenes.

So what’s allowed you… Like, bringing on Ebony into the business, what’s that allowed you to let go of?

Jayde
Uh, well, yeah, just sharing the load, I guess. Um- And slowly getting her to take over a lot of things that I used to handle, um, especially from like a scheduling point of view. Uh, she now is sort of that first point of contact, which is great, ’cause as you know, when you’re on site you, you’re on the tools and you can’t answer the phone and you might miss a client or, uh, so it’s just really enabled us to manage our client relationship a lot better.

Uh, so that’s been huge. What else? Uh, she’s done a lot. I, I… Yeah, I have to give her a cr- credit. And with very little support from me, by the way. The other great thing is she sort of started not long after I joined Lifestyle Tradie, so I was still in the trenches, flat-out busy and I was like, “Hey, welcome aboard.

Um-” “… I don’t have time to teach you anything.” “Um, but here’s this thing, Lifestyle Tradie. Here’s the login, jump on, teach yourself.”

Andy
Oh my God, I love it.

Jayde
So it was great for her, yeah, like to just have that support.

Andy
Yeah. It’s huge and, and I love that you say that because there’s a lot of tradies out there now that are in the trenches like you were and they’re like, “I need help.”

Yes. “I need it now, but I’ve got no time to do it.” And they want their partner to help and, um, obviously you’ve gotta have a partner that wants to help, but that’s what we do at Lifestyle Tradie, isn’t it? Like the, the training and everything we’ve done, it’s so easy- Yeah … for people to follow the steps- follow the bouncing ball …

Angela
Employ someone be and let them be taught.

Andy
And a lot of it’s sort of built for them, so it certainly, I, I love hearing that ’cause that’s the way we built everything in Lifestyle Tradie, that anyone can jump in and just put this stuff in place. Hey, you, you talked a bit about creating the JD Painting way, and can you sort of explain a little bit about what that means, um, and how the system’s helping your team of seven, um, including you, deliver that standard without everything always relying on you?

Jayde
Yeah, well, um, it’s just been this big document that I’ve sort of been working on to basically make sure that everyone’s got the same, understands our vision. And because we market ourselves as a very, um, a high-end quality detailed painting company, so it’s a premium service, it’s absolutely like perv that everyone’s on board with that mindset.

Um, so yeah, there’s a ton load about standards, um, and what that means. But yeah, and, and a lot of checklists and having the expectation. I mean, my, my guys are great and they’ve worked with me for a while now, so they understand how I operate. But it’s, it’s also great to have a sit down, or have the time to sit down and actually start writing out- What, what exactly your role is and what we do as a company.

Um, yeah, that, that’s been, that’s been huge and, and it m- makes it easier now too when I employ the next person that, um, it’s part of their onboarding process and they always have something back to refer to of what, what the standard is and how we do it.

Angela
I think that’s an incredibly important subject which we talk about a lot inside Lifestyle Tradie ’cause it’s one thing to teach your new employees the steps to paint the way you want them to paint, the quality you want on a wall, the checklists to follow, the procedures, you know, the, the, the buttons to push inside that job management system.

But in actual fact, what’s gonna keep your customers coming back time and time again and giving you incredible testimonials and raving fans with high caliber A grade customers in actually, is actually the care factor. You know, it’s this incredible customer experience that every touch point that any of your team has with any of your clients that they just go, “Oh my God, this team cares.”

Like, “They’ve just nurtured me and made me feel special and actually heard my questions and answered me.” So I love that you’ve actually started building out the JD Painting way in with respect to the standards that you expect because they’re in your head, but you need the entire team to love and embrace everything you do, especially in a regional area.

And to be honest, it doesn’t matter where you are. You could be in a big city and even more so in actual fact, that needs to be embedded ’cause there’s so much competition. You do have competition, but I love that you just stand head and shoulders above. So Jayde, in saying that, interestingly, you have been winning a crazy number of awards in the last 12 months.

So you took out last year’s Australian Trade Small Business Award for painting, which I need to say is like the ultimate award ever. So hats off to you. But most recently you won Master Painters Awards for excellence for decorative finishes and also heritage restoration categories, both for the domestic under 100K.

This is amazing. What does winning these awards actually mean to you and the team?

Jayde
Uh, yeah, it’s, it’s a funny one. If you’d asked me 12 months ago, I probably would’ve said, “Oh, just awards, whatever.” Um, but after, um- After winning that champion award, yeah, it was, um, it was pretty nice actually. Um, the only downfall was my team wasn’t there to share it with.

But it was, yeah, very humbling and it’s great to get a pat on the back for all the years and blood, sweat, and tears that you put into your business. So it, it’s, it’s quite nice. Um, but yeah, to, to get the Master Painters Awards this year as well and to, to have my team there because it was down in Melbourne, yeah, it was extra special ’cause we could share it together and it’s as much their award as it is mine.

So yeah, that was pretty special. And it’s, and it’s great just to, for them to understand this is why we push the standard, and this is why we do what we do. Um, so it was pretty special.

Andy
Yeah, absolutely love that. And, and I know there’s a lot of tradies who go, “Yeah, yeah, awards, who cares?” And we talk about-

a lot this at Lifestyle Tradie, and we’re like, “Get in there, win awards,” because it gives you that recognition. I also ask you that question, winning these awards and putting it through your marketing and talking to clients about it and maybe your credibility packs and all the stuff we talk about, has that made a big difference as well, do you believe, with the style of customers you’re winning?

Jayde
Absolutely. Uh, look, it just- reaffirms that quality that we’re trying to provide for people. Um, and knowing that, like, I’ve had tons of previous clients call me up or message me and say, “Oh, I heard you won this award. That’s so great.” Um, you know, “We had an award-winning painter at our house.” So- Yeah … it’s been, it’s been awesome.

Even the guys at the trade shop, um, if I go get paint, they’ve been giving me a hard time. Oh, no, the award winner’s here. So it’s, um, yeah, it’s been a bit of fun. But, um, yeah, no, it’s, it’s absolutely great. It just, um, pushes the, that message of the standard and quality that we try to deliver.

Angela
I’m sure your team’s walking around with a little bit of puff to their shoulders, you know-

after that- Puff the chest out … puff to the chest. Yeah, that’s what I’m trying to say.

Andy
Yeah, that’s right. So puff the chest out like a pigeon. Now, did that sound like a pigeon? I don’t know. I don’t know if it did. Let’s keep moving on. So you were … You were, you were working 80 hours a week. Now you’re working around 40.

So what has changed for you both personally and, and as a business owner?

Jayde
Yeah, I mean, a lot. I’m a lot more relaxed, uh for starters. Yeah. Like, I guess the big thing too is just to have, have time to actually start working on the business. Uh, I’d never had time to even… I mean, like, the whole jou- my whole journey has just been totally organic.

I’ve just gone with the flow and it’s just built, built naturally. Um, so I actually had never had time to think about what I actually wanted in business. It definitely wasn’t what it was prior to jumping on to Lifestyle Tradie, that’s for sure. Did not wanna work eight, uh, 80 hours a week. Every business owner I think runs a business because they want freedom and, um, and then you build yourself a prison.

Andy
Well…

Jayde
You do. You do. There’s so many do. You do. That’s the- So many do. Yeah. But it doesn’t have to be that way, and I think that’s the biggest takeaway from the last 12 months of, you know, you hear people say systems and all the time and you kind of go, “Oh, yeah, whatever.” And it just, it took a while before it really sunk in that you, okay, this is the only way out.

Um, to basically, you have to just keep promoting yourself out to, um, so you’re not required in your business anymore and, um, that’s what, what it means to me now to have the time to actually start doing that. So, you know, like m- my first goal was just to get down to a normal working week. That was the first goal.

The second one’s to have a holiday and I, I did have that but I got sick when I took the week off. Oh. So I’m still owed that. You are. Yeah. Um I know. Dammit. Body just knows when you take some time off. But yeah, the next one now is like, you know, to get down to four days, and three days, and I just, I… Now my goal is to just not be required in my business so I can Virtually just move the pieces.

Um, so I’m really looking forward to that. It’s what I enjoy, and I’m starting to love it again. Um, so yeah, I think that that’s probably the biggest thing personally, uh, for me to, to actually think about what I, what I want.

Andy
Yeah, love that, love that. And that’s it. You’ve got the time now to look, and, you know, we’re sitting here, we’re 12 months down the track, and you’ve come so, so, so far, but it’s not still perfect, and we all know that.

And most business owners, it takes years before you can get off the tools. But in 12 short months, you’ve just come so far, and I know that in another 12 short months- Such an action taker … look out, holidays will be whatever you want, when you want whatever you wanna do. So that is- Yeah … amazing.

Angela
So Jayde, knowing where you have come in the last 12 months, even though you can see a future of what else we need to fix and change because you are now goal-driven, what advice would you actually give another trade business owner who perhaps feels trapped in their business and truthfully want a better life?

Jayde
Uh, well, yeah, well, just basically to let go. Um- If you, if you wanna build, if you wanna be a business and not just a sole trader, um, I think, yeah, you absolutely need to let go. Y- you need the right people and processes and systems in place just to help you grow and not be reliant upon… Yeah, so that’d probably be my biggest thing, just to not let your business run you.

So like for me now, I’ve realized how valuable my time is. Um, I think too, I’ve just turned 40, my mindset is a little bit different than it was in the 30s where it was just all about in the grind and, and working. Now it’s sort of just about getting my time back and enjoying it, ’cause that’s what it’s about, that’s why we do it.

Angela
Yeah. One life, right? One life.

Andy
Yeah, that’s it. That’s it. And I, and I think, you know-

Angela
Let’s make the most of it.

Jayde
And, uh, the body keeps score too, so be careful of that.

Andy
Yeah. And there’s a lot of tradies out there listening to this now, if they’re in their car, they’re out working, they’re at home, and they’re thinking, “Oh my God, that is me,” you know?

But business is a grind, but there is a way out, and I, I think that’s the thing we like just to tell everyone that there’s, there’s a way out. Get your foundations, get your structures, put the systems in place, get the right help. Do that. You can’t do all this on your own, and a lot of tradies are just absolute control freaks, and they don’t let go, don’t let anyone in.

Their partner may even try and help them, and that doesn’t last long ’cause they’re such a control freak. And there’s simple little things you can do to turn this around, and there’s a perfect example right here of yourself and what you’ve done in, in the, in the last 12 months, which has been sensational.

So Jayde, we love to wrap up these segments with a, a little game we play. It’s, it’s called Rapid Fire. I’m gonna ask you three questions. You have around about 15, 20 seconds to answer each one. Are you ready?

Jayde
Let’s go.

Angela
All right. So what’s one decision you made in business that changed everything?

Jayde
It’s gotta be Lifestyle Tradie.

For sure. Um, yeah. And, and mindset, I guess. Um- Yeah, so, so you’re not working in the business and you’re working on the business

Andy
Mindset is everything. You know? Only you personally can change your mindset, and I talk to so many people that are having a whinge about this or that or whatever, but you can flick your mindset and change your way.

Only you can change your life and your destiny, so I love that mindset. Obviously, I love the lifestyle tradie bit as well.

Angela
Yeah, well, you’re, you, you morph to be the people, the five people you hang around with the most, right? So be careful about who you hang out with.

Andy
That’s it. So what’s one small change that makes a big difference in your day to day now these days?

Jayde
I think getting a phone that wasn’t my mobile number. Um, so, and hand in hand with that, we added a CRM into it. Um, but that’s just been like a, it’s a small thing but a huge thing, and that’s been great to not be that first point of call all the time. So now Ebony can filter out the leads and qualify them better, and then hand them over to me when they’re ready.

Andy
And that’s training your customers as well, right? There’s a lot of people listening now going, “I could never- Mm … turn my phone off or divert my number or whatever because everyone just wants to talk to me.” But that’s the control freak talking. You need to get that mental capacity back. You need to be able to think.

You need to be not bogged down, because you’re never helping anyone in business when you’re feeling that way. So definitely a great move.

Angela
That’s true. So finally, last question. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Jayde
That’s a tough one. Um, I always think of, um, so Sam, who’s a, a retired, well, semi-retired, uh, painter that I worked with years ago, he works for me couple of days a week.

Uh, he used to always say, “They can paint it themselves.” Yeah. And, um, I, I, I love it because it was ingraining that whole, uh, point that, you know, if people are going to, like, haggle on price or whatever it is, well, then they can paint it themselves. Um

Andy
Yeah.

Jayde
Love that. You know, like what we do is hard work.

And going back to mindset, I was having a great conversation at the last R and R with a fellow member, and he was talking about mindset and just that shift of mindset of like, obviously we wanna do well for our clients, but, um, they’re l- you know, th- they’re lucky to have us. We’re, we’re good tradies. We do a great job, and that’s value.

Uh, uh, it’s, it’s such a big thing. So, um, I love that. It’s taken me a while to shift that mentality of like, hey, we’re not gonna be a yes man and take on every job. Um, yeah. I, I think that’s probably the, the biggest thing I’d say is, um, yeah, mindset.

Andy
Yeah. Mi- mindset, and I, I love that quote as well, ’cause he’s 100% right.

You know, if people don’t appreciate who you are and, and what you do, you don’t wanna be building a business around them. You don’t. And this is where a lot of the stuff we teach, obviously, as you know, is about making sure That you’re working with your ideal customers, not waking, not being so busy working with dickheads, um, working with the people you wanna work with.

So Jayde, I can’t thank you enough for being so open with us today. What stands out to me in the story is the business and how much you’ve changed over the last 12 months. It’s not about working harder, it’s about working smarter. And in fact, what you’ve done and what you’ve changed and how you’ve changed your mindset is very impressive, and the awards and everything you’ve done, you’ve just come so far, so I’m so happy for you.

Angela
Well, the real change actually came when you started asking for help, and you built these systems, and you actually trusted your team and let go of the idea that everything had to sit with you. And we all know that’s not easy for a lot of trade business owner. The business becomes so tied to who they are that stepping back can feel like losing control.

Andy
Yeah, that’s it. So you- you’ve showed us the way, you’ve shown everyone listening today the standards. You’ve talked about getting the right people, the right processes, the right expectations in, in place for your business to go. You’ve talked about going from 80 hours a week to 40 hours a week. You just absolutely nailed it.

We couldn’t be prouder of you, and we just wanted to say you’re a great leader, you’re a great person, and thank you so much for coming and joining us. I know all of our listeners would’ve got so much out of, um, this episode today.

Jayde
Thanks, guys. Thanks for having me.

Andy
It’s been awesome.

Angela
Totally has been awesome.

And to everyone listening, if any part of Jayde’s story felt familiar, take this as your reminder that you do not have to keep doing everything alone. Start literally with one thing, like ask for help. Get something out of your head and into a system. Give someone else the chance to step up, because that’s how the load starts to lift.

Thanks for listening to the Tradie Show. We’ll catch you next time.
